Matteo Guendouzi, the French winger who was signed by Marseille in 2017, has been undergoing treatment for an ankle injury that he suffered during his first match for the club.

Guendouzi's injury occurred during a friendly match against Al Ahly in Egypt on September 9th. The midfielder had been playing with the first team but was injured and missed out on the following matches.

The injury has now been confirmed as a ligament injury and it is expected to take several months before Guendouzi can return to full fitness. However, the 24-year-old is currently in touch with medical staff from Marseille and hopes to be back in action soon.

Injuries have been a common occurrence for Guendouzi throughout his career, with injuries occurring during various parts of his spell at Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United. Despite these setbacks, Guendouzi remains committed to returning to the pitch and is determined to recover quickly.

Despite the setback, Guendouzi remains confident in his ability to make a comeback. He said: "I'm really looking forward to getting back into training and hopefully be able to play again soon."
