Born on April 15, 2001 in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Telles began his career with hometown side SC Belo Horizonte before joining Atletico Mineiro in 2017. He made his senior debut for the latter in the 2018 Copa do Brasil and quickly established himself as a key player under manager Jorge Jesus.
Telles' impressive performances saw him earn a move to La Liga giants Real Madrid in 2020, where he spent two seasons under Zinedine Zidane. During his time in Spain, Telles helped Real Madrid win the 2020-21 UEFA Champions League, the first major trophy of his career.
